Ukraine used a STING drone interceptor to neutralize an Iranian-made Shahed-107 drone, reported the Ukrainian portal Militarnyi.
The interception was carried out by fighters from the Sky Wars unit of the 47th “Magura” Mechanized Brigade, who used the STING drone interceptor to take down the Shahed-107 while it was in flight.
The engagement occurred during six hours of intense activity, during which the unit destroyed a total of 22 enemy aerial targets, including the Iranian drone.
This was one of the confirmations of Ukrainian aerial equipment being used to intercept drones instead of ground-based air defense resources, according to Militarnyi.
According to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (GUR), the Shahed-107 is a high-wing unmanned aircraft with a wingspan of approximately three meters.
The drone was publicly unveiled for the first time by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in June 2025 and has since been observed operating in Russia, indicating ongoing cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.
